Hi all,
when the jaws 6.0 cd ships, will they send the training cds as usual, or will I have to use the fs reader to listening to the training? I don't need to listen to any beginningtutorials, but will I have to depend on the demo version of fs reader to read topics about the new features?

According to the jaws6.0 new features section the training will now be on the program cd and you will have to use the daisy reader to listen to them.

as this is a demo, I wonder how much the dam reader will cost?
well, I checked and I think it's $79 for the desktop or packmate version, $119 if you get both. I think this is just terrible! I don't know anything about using a daisy reader, and I won't be able to listen to the what's new stuff on my little mp3 player. I think to get any help with the fs reader, you might have to download the daisy books, but I'm not sure. I only have around 600 mb of free disc space, because I have 3 versions of jaws on here, and 3 versions of internet explorer. So when I get my cd, I'm going to have to call fs to figure out which is the best way to uninstall older versions. A man on one of the jaws lists said he uninstalled an older version of jaws, and the version of jaws he was currently using stopped talking. I guess I could uninstall all older versions just before I put the new cd in, but the thought of being without any jaws at all really terrifies me! Oh well, I'm not even going to try installing from the web site, I'm waiting for the disc to ship.

Hi ww. I have always uninstalled older versions of jaws before putting the new one on. Here's what I do: For the version of jaws I'm currently using I make a hotkey for. Then I uninstall my older version of jaws. Now what your friend was refering to was that jaws will sometimes not talk when you uninstall an older version. However what you need to do if that happens (it doesn't happen all the time) is to just reopen jaws by pressing your hotkey that you've made. Also when you uninstall an older version of jaws the box to start jaws automatically will become unchecked. All you need to do is recheck it. Also when you're uninstalling it will ask if you want to keep the shared files and as a caution I'd say yes to that.
